Treadmills are a popular tool for weight loss and fitness. However, to maximize the benefits and avoid injury, it's important to use them correctly. Before Running

  1. Don’t Exercise on an Empty Stomach, and Always Wear Shoes

Exercising on an empty stomach can lead to exercise-induced anemia. Drink a sports drink or eat a banana before your workout to maintain energy levels. Always wear shoes when using a treadmill to avoid unnecessary joint impact and reduce the risk of slipping if your feet sweat.

After Running

  1. Gradually Slow Down

When finishing your run, gradually reduce the speed to allow your body to adjust and prevent dizziness.

  1. Don’t Rest Immediately

Avoid sitting or lying down immediately after exercising. This can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, leading to temporary brain ischemia and symptoms like dizziness, shortness of breath, and even fainting.

  1. Avoid Immediate Showers

Do not shower immediately after exercise, especially with cold water. This sudden temperature change can lead to reduced blood flow to the heart and brain, causing dizziness, fainting, and potentially triggering chronic conditions.

Watching videos can distract you and lead to injury. It can also strain your eyes.

  1. Listen to Music

Listening to music can make your workout more enjoyable and help you maintain focus.

  1. Don’t Overdo It

Avoid pushing yourself too hard or running too fast. Exercise should be sustainable and enjoyable.

  1. Stay Hydrated

Drink water before, during, and after your workout to prevent dehydration.

  1. Avoid Late-Night Workouts

Exercising late at night can interfere with your sleep and disturb others.

  1. Protect from Sunlight

Keep your treadmill out of direct sunlight and use a dust cover when not in use.

  1. Regular Lubrication

Lubricate the treadmill belt regularly, especially if used daily.
